2pm - 6pm
Mon - Sunday until the 2nd of November
Mapping Ocean Change is a project that bridges scientific research into climate-driven changes between Scotland and the Arctic, with lived-experience insights into environmental changes that are currently taking place in marine environments and coastal areas.
This exhibition brings together insights from marine biologists, and interviews with people who live and work in marine and coastal environments around Scotland, artwork by artist Jennifer Argo and portraits by photographer Daniel Tulloch.
Mapping Ocean Change is supported by the Natural Environment Research Council, coordinated by artist Jennifer Argo, in collaboration with Creative Carbon Scotland, marine biologists and data scientists from Strathclyde University, and photographer Daniel Tulloch.
Mapping Ocean Change: Exhibition Opening
Join us for the opening of Mapping Ocean Change, an exhibition about climate-driven changes between Scotland and the Arctic at New Glasgow Society.
National Whale and Dolphin Watch 2022: Ecosystem Collage Workshop
Join artist Jennifer Argo from Mapping Ocean Change through Art for an online ecosystem collage workshop as part of Sea Watch Foundation's National Whale and Dolphin Watch 2022 from 7-8.30pm on Wednesday the 27th of July.

Climate Fresk Workshop, Isle of Harris
Join us for a Climate Fresk workshop hosted by Janet Marshall of Clean Coast Outer Hebrides at Talla na Mara on the Isle of Harris in partnership with the Làn Thìde - Creative Carbon Scotland - Climate Beacon.
We will learn about the causes and consequences of climate change and reflect on collective solutions.
Foraging Workshop, Isle of Harris
Join foragers from Temple Cafe, artist Jennifer Argo, and marine biologists from Strathclyde University to go on a guided foraging walk, discuss climate-driven changes to marine and coastal ecosystems, and explore food-chain and migration connections that bridge marine wildlife between Scotland and the Arctic Ocean, as part of Mapping Ocean Change through Art, supported by the Natural Environment Research Council, in partnership with Creative Carbon Scotland and the Làn Thìde Climate Beacon.
Mapping Ocean Change Workshop - Scottish Oceans Institute
Join artist Jennifer Argo, marine biologists from Strathclyde University, and a specialist in ocean acidification and biomineralisation from the Scottish Oceans Institute, to explore connections between, and climate-driven changes to marine ecosystems between Scotland and the Arctic, as part of Mapping Ocean Change through Art, in partnership with OnFife, a Creative Carbon Scotland - Climate Beacon.
Talk - Jennifer Argo - Orca Watch Round-Up
On Sunday 26th at 7.30pm, Sea Watch Foundation will be doing a round-up of Orca Watch. Artist Jennifer Argo from the MOCA team will be joining to talk about Mapping Ocean Change through Art.
The Dandelion Project x Mapping Ocean Change - Workshop
Join artist Jennifer Argo, and marine biologists from Strathclyde University on a guided walk to the estuary of the River Leven to collect marine micro-organisms and discuss climate-driven changes to marine and coastal ecosystems.
This is followed by a workshop at The Centre to map and explore food-chain and migration connections that bridge marine wildlife between Scotland and the Arctic Ocean.
We will also discuss the seasonal changes to local plant life and horticulture due to climate change in the Dandelion Project garden.
Mapping Ocean Change Workshop - Lyth Arts
Join artist Jennifer Argo, marine biologists and part of the Sea Watch Foundation team, to explore connections that bridge marine wildlife between Scotland and the Arctic Ocean, as part of Orca Watch and Mapping Ocean Change through Art.
Orca Watch Workshop - Lyth Arts

Cove Park Workshop
Afternoon Session
About this event:
MOCA: Mapping Ocean Change through Art
For participants of all ages, children should be accompanied by an adult.
All-day workshop as part of the Cove Park Saturday series, led by artist Jennifer Argo and marine biologist Dr Neil Banas.
Join artist Jennifer Argo and marine biologists Dr Neil Banas and Professor Michael Heath at Cove Park to explore connections that bridge marine wildlife between Scotland and the Arctic Ocean.
We will map food chain connections and migration routes between marine life species from local sea lochs around Cove Park, out to the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans, from the smallest organisms, up to megafauna.
We will create intricate plankton origami, sketch and photograph organisms under the microscope, and look at the stories of marine species and ecosystems down by the shore of Loch Long.
What you'll need:
Please wear all-weather outdoors clothing and footwear, and bring a spare pair of clothes incase you get wet.
A packed lunch
Ages: The workshop is suitable for all ages, though children should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
